I LIKE THE LOOK OF YOUR SWEATER, CAN I HAVE YOUR NUMBER?
No we aren’t trying to pick you up, but if we were, this is the EP we’d use to do it.
The Sand Dollars are a band that you’re going to want to show your mates and their new EP ‘I Like The Look Of Your Sweater, Can I Have Your Number’ is 50 shades of damn cool if you ask us.
Produced by Nikita Miltiadou (Tash Sultana’s producer), this five-tracker is packed full of indie licks and 60’s reverb that is seriously droolworthy.
The EP’s genre is somewhat fluid but consistent throughout. A real highlight is ‘I Need‘. The opening guitar could be straight out of an old western movie and progresses into a crooning track, again with an early 60’s feel.
However it’s the four pieces lead single ‘Love Dust’ that really highlights the band’s diversity. The surprising RnB track glitters to True Live singer Ryan Ritchie’s narration. And it’s got SAX appeal baby!
Just like in a good novel, ‘Love Dust’ is the finishing twist in the EP’s plot and opens up a whole new path that we’d love to see the band explore more in their next chapter.
